GAME SHEET TEMPLATE FOR H/L COACHES

Coaches,

Game sheets are required to be completed for each game in the U9 to U18 divisions.

Attached is a template of a Knights game sheet with a sample of how to complete the form. Open GAME SHEET TEMPLATE

  • Coaches will need to bring a completed printed version to each game.  The information in red font in the sample is what the coach fills out (i.e., date, arena, division, time, a list of all of your players, Y or N as to attendance, coaches).
  • A coach should list the players onto the template spreadsheet, print it multiple times and subsequently add the other necessary information every week.

All players need to be listed on the game sheet with their last name included.  It is incorrect to only list first names of players in attendance each week or to list only the names of players that are present.  The whole roster has to be listed each game, with a check mark next to each player present and an “A” next to an absent player – the Knights need to know who is absent.

The game sheets need to be completed before each game (not while you are on the bench during warm-ups as it delays the start of the game).   Coaches need to submit correct game sheets to the Timekeeper 5 minutes before game time (Rule 2.1).  Failure to do so, may result in a 2-minute minor penalty – Rule 2.7.

  • These rules are in place to help ensure that games start on time.

To complete the game sheets:

  1. List ALL players on your teams roster each time along with their number;
  2. First and last names are required;
  3. Player attendance is required with a check-mark beside a player’s name (in the attendance column) and an “A” for absent players; if there is a particular reason players are missing (especially Select/CDS players), please write that in the comment line at the bottom of the sheet;
  4. Bench Count including goalies should be shown at the bottom of the sheet;
  5. ALL Coaches on bench including assistants should be listed;
  6. Team name must be shown at top of roster;
  7. One Coach from each team must sign beside their name.

Reminders:

  1. 8 players (7 skaters plus a goalie) are required, otherwise your team will forfeit the game, and it will be recorded as a 5-0 loss.
  2. Coaches can borrow players from another team with a view to replace the same skill level of players that are missing (i.e., an absent House League level player cannot be substituted by a Select player).
  3. If you fill out the date, team names, division, time, players’ names and numbers all before getting to the rink, then, the coach only has to check off the players that are present (and mark and A for absent) and does not have to waste time just prior to the game.

REMEMBER – The League runs on equal ice time.
