NORTH YORK KNIGHTS HOCKEY
ASSOCIATION RESPONSE TO COVID-19
The North York Knights Hockey Association (NYKHA) has always considered public safety and the health and safety of everyone associated with minor hockey and our league, including players, coaches, staff, officials, fans, family, volunteers and the general public, to be of the utmost importance.
Consequently, the Association’s Executive have been carefully monitoring the Covid-19 situation and has made the difficult decision to adopt the safety recommendations of Health Canada, the Ontario Chief Medical Officer and our National Governing body Hockey Canada, and suspend all hockey activities, effective Friday, March 13th until at least after March 22nd. We will continue to monitor the situation and the recommendations of health officials and will advise everyone by March 24th of any change/update to our suspension of hockey activities.
We recognize the tremendous burden that this unprecedented virus outbreak has caused to our whole community and appreciate the dedication from all of our players, parents, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Although it was difficult for us to suspend the hockey season abruptly, we feel this is the best course of action in order to do our part in keeping everyone in our community safe and healthy.
As such, all North York Knights Hockey Association games, practices, skills clinics, Learn to Play and Extended Learn to Play are suspended pending further notification from the Association.
Further information will follow as it becomes available.
