HOLIDAY TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF CANADA
For Knights families traveling outside of Canada during the holiday season, the following note clarifies when your child can return to House League play in January 2022. The Canadian government has mandated that all unvaccinated children who travel outside of Canada must self-isolate for 14 days upon return. As per this policy, along with not being allowed to attend school, children will not be able to participate in any hockey programming for 14 days (including all House League, CDS, and Select events) subsequent to their return to Canada.
Please note that while children are now starting to get vaccines, it will not be possible for any child to be FULLY VACCINATED before the players return from the Holiday Break. Thus, even if your child is scheduled to get vaccinated before traveling, it does not negate the government-mandated obligation to isolate for 14 days.
The Knights intend to start the House League winter season with practices on Saturday, January 8th and have games played on Sunday, January 9th. Please let your coaches know in advance if you will not be available to participate as the league may need to make adjustments to practice and game schedules based on the availability of players at their sessions. While league officials are limited in their ability to monitor travel arrangements for all Knights families, we do trust that everyone will be honest in their adherence to the Canadian guidelines. If league executives do become aware of anyone who is not adhering to these guidelines, we will immediately suspend playing privileges for your children.
Thank you for your cooperation.
