KNIGHTS VOLUNTEERS RECOGNIZED
Ontario’s medal and recognition programs celebrate the people who make our province a better place to live. Volunteer award programs recognize the contributions of volunteers of all ages from seniors to youth. The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards recognize individual volunteers for continuous years of commitment and dedicated service to an organization. Adults are recognized for five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30+, 40+, 50+ and 60+ years of continuous service. Youth (under the age of 24) are recognized for two or more years of continuous service. The North York Knights Hockey Association (NYKHA) had 5 of their volunteers recognized with the Volunteer Service Award in 2016 for their ongoing work and commitment to the Association: Steve Horvath (10 years) for his work as NYKHA Secretary and Extended Learn to Play Convenor; Brad Hadfield (10 years) for his work as Learn to Play Head Coach; Mike Binette (10 years) for his contribution in a variety of roles on the NYKHA Executive team; Cathy Merry (10 years) for her contribution as NYKHA Treasurer; and Russell Horvath (5 years) for his volunteer work in the Learn to Play and Extended Learn to Play programs. Congratulations to all five dedicated volunteers for this well-deserved recognition of their exceptional commitment to the Knights!
